Robert C. Karas, MD, ABFP  
Robert Karas

Robert C. Karas, better known as Rob, grew up in a small rural town outside of Ft. Wayne, Indiana. He spent his youth playing sports and spending time outdoors with his brothers. Dr. Karas graduated from Hillsdale College with a double major in German and Finance. After graduating, he volunteered for 18 months teaching English in Thailand for the government school systems. While working as a volunteer, he changed his career choice from business to health-care.

Dr. Karas graduated from medical school at Indiana University in 1998 and then completed a 3 year residency in Family Medicine. After residency, Dr. Karas worked more than 5 years in a busy emergency room where he served as Director of the ER for 3 years. Rob and family moved to Arkansas to be closer to his wife’s family. He has worked in the emergency rooms at Washington Regional in Fayetteville, St. Edward’s in Ft. Smith, and St. Mary’s in Rogers since moving to Arkansas.

Dr. Karas is very excited about bringing “Great, Affordable Healthcare” to Northwest Arkansas.

W. Scott Lafferty, MD  
Scott Lafferty

W. Scott Lafferty, MD has been practicing medicine in Arkansas emergency rooms for over 10 years. Dr. Lafferty grew up in Greers Ferry, Arkansas where he enjoyed an experience only rural Arkansas can provide. He graduated from Arkansas College with a degree in biology in 1991. While at Arkansas College, now known as Lyon College, he was president of his fraternity and awarded Mr. Arkansas College from the student body. In 1995, he graduated from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences with a degree in medicine, and then finished a residency in Family Medicine at the Arkansas Area Health Education Center in Jonesboro, Arkansas. For the last 7+ years, he has practiced at St. Mary’s/Mercy Hospitals in the emergency room.

Dr. Lafferty, his wife and 3 children have been living in Rogers, Arkansas for almost 8 years now. His wife is busy in their church and their children’s schools and activities. His children attend area schools and participate in various activities in church, school, and the community.

Dr. Lafferty is certified by the American Board of Family Medicine and has over 10 years of experience in big emergency rooms with high volumes. His goal is to use his experience to provide quality, efficient health care in an Urgent Care setting.

Richard F. “Frank” Hefner, Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP)  
Frank Hefner

Native Arkansan, married to beautiful wife, Teresa, for 26 years with 3 wonderful children, Leah, 25, Janna 22, and Zachary 17.

Over 31 years of nursing experience, with 22 plus years as a Nurse Practitioner. Veteran of USAF Nurse Corps for over 9 years with both stateside and overseas assignments including flight nursing with an aeromedical evacuation squadron during Operation Desert Storm in 1992.

Employed almost exclusively as a Family Practice Nurse Practitioner since leaving the military in June 1993 with most recent position in retail health care and currently with Ozark Urgent Care.

Nationally certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners in Family Practice since 1996. Granted Prescriptive Authority in September 1999. Licensed by the Arkansas State Board of Nursing as an Advanced Practice Nurse, Advanced Nurse Practitioner in Family Practice since January 1997.
